Christina Sheardown is a Red Seal Certified Chef and is the Head Chef at Andrews Roots and has enjoyed a fulfilling 21 year career. Back when she was first starting out she worked at the Sizzling Shrimp in Wasaga Beach, along with a great high school co-op at Between Friends in Collingwood. She then attended Cambrian college and was hired before she finished school by Deerhurst Resort, before graduating with honours. With a season in Montreal, working at Chez Cora, then a return to Deerhurst, Sheardown was hired to the Barrie area at Michael and Marion’s Fine Dining, becoming Sous Chef after 4 months (and became the youngest in the area) she worked here for 6 years, becoming Chef right before an opportunity at Blue Mountain Resort came up. Sheardown managed the banquet kitchen, feeding anywhere from a hundred to a thousand people a day; with customized menus, special diets and personalized requests, she took great pride when finishing a banquet when every single person loved every bite! Sheardown left Blue last winter to get back to small restaurant cooking; with a stint at SiSi’s in Thornbury. The opportunity for a Chef’s position came up for Roots and she eagerly jumped at it as Sheardown has called Meaford home for the last 5 years.

Sheardown is passionate about local food, local cuisine and is especially passionate about environmental practices. She is excited for the future of Meaford and wants Roots to grow along with our town. Hope to see you there!
