After four nights of films and parties, the ballots were all totalled up and “Searching For Sugar Man” (already an Oscar winner) was declared the winner of this years Pomme D’or award at MIFF. “Shun Li & the Poet” came second and not far behind was “The Parade”. The academy award winning “Amour” placed last. Each film was rated by the audience on a scale of one to five, five being the best. “The good news for me was that while Sugar Man was the winner, the next 2 films also had very very high numbers” said Artistic Director of MIFF Christopher Thomas. “That’s a reassuring vote of confidence from the audience”.
