Mumbai housewife Ila is trying to add some spice to her marriage through her cooking. She prepares a new recipe for her neglectful husband’s lunch. Trusting it as usual to the intricate system of cycling dabbawallas, the impossible happens. It is mistakenly delivered to Saajan, a lonely bureaucrat on the verge of retirement played by Irrfan Khan. Curious about the lack of reaction from her husband, Ila puts a little note in the following day’s lunchbox. This remarkable film explores the unexpected and challenging consequences of Saajan’s decision to write back.

“Delicately judged, beautifully acted, recommended to romantics of all ages.” – The Express
